St Leonard’s College

LL Installations crafted and installed feature wall panels and ceiling deflectors within the theatre and main foyer. The wall and ceiling panels were curved out and grain matched Austral hoop pine ply, all vacuum pressed in-house with LL’s fully automated vacuum machine. The architect’s brief was to replicate a piece of colonial skirting; LL worked closely to ensure this vision was produced. All veneer was carefully selected eliminating colour variation & ensuring the end grain lined up.

The layered floor linings within the auditorium were also constructed by LL, made from two dissimilar thickness of ply topped with 14mm engineered Blackbutt and Blackbutt timber nosing to achieve desired acoustic values. The design of the flooring consists of fifteen tiered layers and is curved with long sweeping radiuses running parallel. Designed by the LL drafting department and cut on our CNC machine to ensure effective and efficient on-site installation. Voxel ceiling boxes were installed to the main foyer with 286 boxes designed to replicate stalactites in a cave, covered with a high-end white render.
